Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is typically a 50 minute session once a week. Sometimes more or less often, depending on the issues or needs.

I have additional training and experience using CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) and DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy). 

For children and teens I tailor therapy sessions to meet their needs while still using evidence-based treatment. 

EMDR for Trauma

EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is well known for quickly and effectively helping with trauma symptoms. While there is no such thing as a magic wand, I have seen people experience incredible changes with the use of EMDR. In person appointments are most ideal for this type of therapy.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is effective for a wide variety of emotional and somatic conditions. Brainspotting is particularly effective with trauma-based situations, helping to identify and heal underlying trauma that contributes to anxiety, depression and other behavioral conditions. It can also be used with performance and creativity enhancement. Brainspotting gives the therapist access to both brain and body processes. Its goal is to bypass the conscious, neocortical thinking to access the deeper, subcortical emotional and body-based parts of the brain.
